14th February 2012 - Champion Academy!

i

WOW !!!! Unbelievable, fantastic, champion club, super coach; these are just some of the words that were used at the end of the Junior World Championship Selection Event held on 5th February in Perth. These comments were made because of the amazing results that were achieved by our coaching staff and our junior black belts. It is a record that will be hard to beat and something that might never be achieved again in Australia or the world by another Taekwondo school or Academy.

Eight members in an Australian Team of 17 coming from one Academy is phenomenal result, was achieved when the best junior black belt fighters from Victoria, Queensland, New South Wales, ACT, South Australia and Western Australia all came together to fight it out for both bragging rights and the rights to see who was mentally, physically and emotionally tough and good enough to make the Australian Team. At the end of the day after all the fighting was done, one club stood tall with a record 8 fighters winning their respective weight divisions, earning the honour and rights to represent Australia at the World Junior Championships in Egypt from the 1st-8th April.

If this does not make us the power club in Australian Taekwondo what will?? Congratulations to Tiaana Dicicco, Allie Waiderman, Michael Kakakios, Abdullah Mohamed Ali, Josh Bloor, Mustafaa Olomi, Kalis Vandiappan & Zakariya Hourani on all winning your spot on the Australian Team.

Well done also to Petra Kakakios (silver), Stephen Kakakios, David Knock, Alex Jayasuria, Nikita D'Souza (bronze) & Hayley Brandon (silver) who all did their best but was unsuccessful on the day. Stay tune for full wrap up of the Championship.

28th January 2012 - Juniors for Upcoming Selections.

(Junior black belts after a hard training session)

Welcome back to everyone for the year 2012 which promises to be a huge one with the World Junior Selections been held in Perth WA at the Altone Park Leisure Centre on the 5th February.

At this event, the best Junior (14-17yr old) black belts from around Australia will be competing to see who has what it takes to represent their country at the World Championships in Egypt. Amongst them will be our  very own  elite junior fighters, Tiaana, Nikita, Hayley, Allie, Josh, Abdullah, Mustafaa, Kalis, David, Alexander, Zekaria (S) and Zakarya (H).

Come along and give them your support them and, watch the best Junior black belts in Australia do battle.

Well done also to all that went for their respective black belts. It was fantastic to watch all your hard training pay off. There was certainly a lot of emotions at the grading which is what is expected and to all who passed, welcome to the Rawlins Elite Black Belt Club.

(Red belts who went for grading)

Congratulations also to Mr. Steele French from French Taekwondo on passing his 5th Dan Black Belt along with our very own Sinead Smyth, Jessica Dicoski & Kire Dicoski on passing their 4th Dan Black Belt. Those who were present at the grading witness some amazing and remarkable board and tile breaking as well some awesome self defence moves against knives, chains, baseball bat, shoes, sticks and even umbrellas. Both members and spectators watching the grading  were totally entertained and wanted more, much to the anguish of those that were doing the grading.

Once again welcome back to everyone, congratulations to our new Black Belts and good luck to our Junior fighters attempting to make the True Aussie Team.

(The Australian Team)

Mr. Rawlins, Sinead & Jasmine have returned from the London Olympic Test event, unfortunately with no luck for our girls but while there, Mr. Rawlins coached Cheyna Lang from Titan Taekwondo to a bronze medal win at this very prestigious event. Well done to the whole Australian Team. We know you gave it your best and we are all proud of you for getting this far.
